UF College of Nursing’s NIH Funding on Upward Trajectory

UF College of Nursing recently issued the following announcement.

For the fourth year in a row, the growth of the University of Florida College of Nursing’s National Institutes of Health funding has continued its upward momentum. The College of 

Nursing has seen an increase of $1.1 million in just one year, solidifying its status as a top 20 institution in NIH funding rankings for 2021 according to the Blue Ridge Institute for 

Medical Research.

Owing to its leadership in research and clinical scholarship, the College of Nursing also maintained its status as landing as No. 18 nationally, No. 12 among public colleges of nursing and the No. 1 ranked college of nursing in Florida for NIH funding.

Research funding at the college focuses on a range of topical health care foci, including symptom science, palliative care and health care quality. Recently, the college has begun 

to increase its footprint in nursing informatics through supporting a cohort of six nursing informatics scientists, helping further a university-wide mission to become a regional leader 

in artificial intelligence innovation.
