City of Newberry recently issued the following announcement.
We've been notified by several of our customers that they have been contacted by someone claiming to be from Duke Energy. This caller will claim that the City of Newberry has
contracted Duke Energy to process electric disconnections. THIS IS NOT TRUE. The City of Newberry has not contracted out disconnections. If someone contacts you claiming
that your power is going to be disconnected, please hang up and contact the City directly at 352-472-2161 ext 1.
