November Agriculture and Natural Resources Program

The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following Agriculture and Natural Resources program for November 2022. This program is being offered by Dr. Kevin Korus, Agriculture & Natural Resources Agent.

Fish Health & Pond Workshop – November 15, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the UF/IFAS Center for Aquatic and Invasive Plants (7922 N.W. 71 Street, Gainesville)

This workshop covers all aspects of pond management. Specialists from the University of Florida will discuss fish pond management (construction, species selection, stocking rates/times, harvesting and calculating pond area/volume), fish health, water quality testing, aquatic weed management, and selecting desirable pond plants. Attendees are encouraged to bring water and aquatic weed samples for testing and identification. 

Up to four Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be available for Aquatic Pest Control and Private Applicator.

The registration fee is $20.00 (includes handouts and refreshments). Participants must register online by November 12. This class is limited to 25 participants. There are no refunds for the registration fees
