Come learn more about this seven day celebration of African American heritage and culture. The City of Gainesville’s A. Quinn Jones Museum and Cultural Center and The Black Hat Collectives will host “A History of Kwanzaa” on Tuesday, December 27 at 7 p.m. Local historian Kali Blount will share the story of Kwanzaa, the seven candles, the feast and music, and the holiday’s focus on principles such as self-determination and unity. There will also be music from Steve Cobb/Chavunduka Seven Principles of Kwanzaa. This event is free and open to the public.
