Of the 276,171 people living in Alachua County, Florida in 2021, 51.7% (142,725) were women and 48.3% (133,446) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by NC Florida News.

Data showed the average age for women in Alachua County in 2021 was 33 years, lower than the national average of 40 for women.

According to census data, women aged 18 and over outnumbered men in the same age group by 5,381. Meanwhile, in the 65 and over group, there were 17,673 men and 21,977 women.
