City of Starke issued the following announcement.
The latest.. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has ordered the suspension of dining in at restaurants, as well as the suspension of all fitness centers. Take out and pick up services will still be available..
Also a reminder that even though we will not be doing electrical cut offs during this event, bills are still ue and must be paid. Once the local state of emergency is lifted cut-offs will occur and outstanding bills must be paid in full prior to reconnection.
The City of Starke is coordinating with the Bradford County Emergency Center, County and State Health Departments as part of a team in dealing with the COVID-19 virus emergency. The City will be continuing to provide for all city wide services during this emergency within the following parameters
- City Hall will be closed to the public from March 20 through March 27. All employees will be at work and conducting City business each day, we are working to ensure the safety of our citizens and employees.
- All services will be maintained. You may contact City staff by e-mail, mail, phone or fax.
- The drive up window at City Hall will be open during normal business hours.
- Since this is a “Health Emergency Matter” utility shut-offs are discontinued during the duration of the emergency, utility bills will be sent and are due as listed on the bill. Shut-offs will resume after the emergency is ended.
- Emergency meeting of the Council is scheduled for Tuesday, March 25, at 6:00PM. Item on the agenda is “continuation of emergency declaration.”
From March 24 through April 28, Walmart stores will host an hour-long senior shopping event every Tuesday for customers aged 60 and older. This will start one hour before the store opens. Pharmacies and Vision Centers will also be open during this time.
