ALACHUA COUNTY LIBRARY DISTRICT: Celebrate Lost and Found Day with Lost and Found Jars

Volunteer

Alachua County Library District issued the following announcement.

Since its beginning in 2012 Lost and Found day is celebrated on the second Friday in December. It is a day to go searching for the toy you lost months ago or clean under your bed to find what smells.

While you check for those lost items collect all the scattered lego pieces, detached action figure limbs, loose puzzle pieces and abandoned dice. With some sand or rice, a handful of found odds and ends, and a cleaned up bottle found in recycling you can make your very own Lost and Found jar!

Some other ways to celebrate Lost and Found day:

  • Pull off the couch cushions and see what you find. Make sure to put them back!
  • Make name labels for your toys
  • Find a home for everything in your room
  • Turn something in to a lost and found desk
  • Share something interesting you found with your friends and family
  • Find a good book to read
