NW 14th and 15th Streets converted to one-way streets

B

City of Gainesville issued the following announcement on July 21.

The City of Gainesville is in the process of converting Northwest 14th and 15th Streets from University Avenue to Northwest Fifth Avenue from two-way streets to a one-way pair. Work on NW 15th Street is nearing completion, and Northwest 14th Street is expected to be complete in August.

This project is part of the Vision Zero action plan designed to eliminate deaths and serious injuries from traffic crashes, and the conversion of these streets from two-way to one-way will reduce potential conflicts between vehicles and bicyclists and pedestrians at the intersections with University Avenue. The reconfigured streets maintain existing on-street parking, and add bicycle lanes.
