City of Gainesville recently issued the following announcement.
The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department offers all day activities for days Alachua County Public Schools are closed (from Oct. 8, 2021-March 28, 2022). Out of
School Days provides a safe and enjoyable environment for children in 1st through 8th grades to build lasting experiences. The program enhances the children’s physical, social
and mental awareness by providing sustainable healthy lifestyle lessons and building positive character development through learning teamwork and creating art projects together.
Our dedicated staff is committed to keeping children safe while they learn and have fun! Registration is open, in person or online.
Out of School Days hours are 7 a.m.- 6 p.m. on the following dates:
Friday, Oct. 8 (UF Homecoming)
Friday, Oct. 15 (Teacher workday)
Monday, Nov. 22 (Thanksgiving week)
Tuesday, Nov. 23 (Thanksgiving week)
Monday, Dec. 20 (Winter break)
Tuesday, Dec. 21 (Winter break)
Wednesday, Dec. 22 (Winter break)
Monday, Jan. 3 (Teacher workday)
Friday, Jan. 14 (Teacher workday)
Monday, Feb. 21 (President’s Day)
Monday, March 28 (Teacher workday)
