Library launches hoopla streaming services

Alachua County Library District issued the following announcement on Dec. 14.

This holiday season, the Alachua County Library District’s gift to the community is the new video and music streaming service – hoopla digital. Alachua County library cardholders can use the hoopla app starting Tuesday, Dec. 14 to enjoy thousands of movies, TV shows, albums, and comics on their phone, tablet, computer, or TV.

“We’re thrilled to offer 24/7 access to great films, music, and television with no wait times on hoopla just in time for the holidays,” said Library Director Shaney T. Livingston.

Alachua County library cardholders can visit www.aclib.us/hoopla and create an account to get started. Library cardholders can then stream from any computer, television, mobile device, or platform by downloading the hoopla digital app for iOS, Android, AppleTV, Chromecast or Roku. Alachua County residents can borrow 10 items a month with this new service. hoopla movies and television episodes check out for three days, music albums check out for seven days, and graphic novels and comics check out for one week.

The hoopla digital collection includes hit movies, newly released albums, and TV shows. Watch Hallmark holiday movies, binge on BBC series, and listen to albums by Drake, Olivia Rodrigo and many other artists.
