Library Offers In-Person Programs by Registration

3

Alachua County Library District recently issued the following announcement.

The Alachua County Library District will offer new in-person programs and longtime favorites for all ages starting Friday, April 1. Seating is limited, and patrons can register online at www.aclib.us/attend or by calling their preferred branch.

In-person programs will be held at all 12 library locations across Alachua County and will include popular children's favorites such as Music and Movement and story times, hands-on creative workshops for teens, and book clubs and educational programs for adults. Programs serve a variety of community needs, including computer classes for beginners, craft programs for veterans, and resume building for jobseekers. All programs are free, and a library card is not required to register or attend.

“We are pleased to offer more ways for the patrons to participate, connect, and discover with in-person programs,” said Library Director Shaney T. Livingston. “We are starting programs with seating limits to provide the best experience for patrons and will monitor attendance as we grow.”

Registration for each program opens two weeks before the event. Patrons signing up families or groups can add each person as a guest during registration. Patrons should register at least 12 hours before an event to guarantee a spot. Check-in begins 15 minutes before a program’s start time. Learn more at www.aclib.us/programs

For patrons who prefer outdoor programs, Story Time on the Green will continue at library green spaces and community parks through May. Live Virtual Programs for all ages, including Law in the Library with legal experts and Community Partners Presents featuring local resource agencies, are streamed on Zoom and Facebook.
